Danish jeweler Georg Jensen’s wildly successful A/W 2011 print campaign, featuring supermodel Freja Beha Erichsen, is getting a reboot and a tour – thanks to the cross stitching efforts of Danish-Irish artist and recent collaborator Inge Jacobsen.
Inge, with the help of students from the Royal School of Needlework At Hampton Court, embellished Freja’s image in the campaign with needle and thread. The results are stunning!
We wrote about Inge, who is based in the UK, here last year when the artist was student; and we are looking forward to seeing her work in person when it hits New York during Fashion Week.

With the global success of the Autumn/Winter 2011 campaign featuring the Georg Jensen Grape, Fusion and Regitze Gold collections, the house combined the Danish heritages of Freja Beha Erichsen and Georg Jensen for the first time. Involving Inge Jacobsen – one of the most exciting Danish artists on the international fashion and art scenes – is a natural next step in the successful campaign, and reinforces Georg Jensen’s firm place on the international fashion map. Nearly 2000 hours went into cross-stitching the eight Georg Jensen campaign pictures; an undertaking executed by Inge Jacobsen herself along with the assistance of students from The Royal School of Needlework at Hampton Court.
The cross-stitched Freja Beha Erichsen works are executed in fully stitched and partly stitched versions, and will be exhibited at the Georg Jensen flagship stores during this season’s Copenhagen Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week and London Fashion Week. Following the in-store displays, the cross-stitched Freja exhibition will travel the Georg Jensen stores globally.
