No time in our political history has this been more evident, as it was revealed that the current Republican presidential front runners and their new “super” political action committees are growing more powerful and raising more money that the campaigns they support.

One reason is due to the overwhelming support from billionaire businessmen, who have essentially bankrolled Super PACs affiliated with the Republican candidates.
For instance, one of Newt Gingrich’s main money men is Sheldon Adelson, 78, the CEO of casino giant Las Vegas Sands who has a net worth of more than $25 billion.
Adelson is the eighth-richest person in America and to date, has given more than $5 million in donations to the pro-Newt Gingrich super-PAC Winning Our Future.
In fact, in a recent interview with Forbes magazine, Sheldon said:
“I’m against very wealthy people attempting to or influencing elections. But as long as it’s doable I’m going to do it.
Because I know that guys like Soros have been doing it for years, if not decades. And they stay below the radar by creating a network of corporations to funnel their money.
I have my own philosophy and I’m not ashamed of it. I gave the money because there is no other legal way to do it. I don’t want to go through ten different corporations to hide my name. I’m proud of what I do and I’m not looking to escape recognition.”
Sheldon may be playing by the rules in a corrupt system, but it doesn’t seem like he’s willing to change the system either.
When it comes to critics who feel that he’s buying the Presidential election for Newt Gingrich, Sheldon says:
“They like to trash other people. It’s unfair that I’ve been treated unfair—but it doesn’t stop me. I might give $10 million or $100 million to Gingrich.”
Wow, would he really pump $100 million bucks into Gingrich for President? Sheldon has brass ones and he doesn’t care who knows it.
Sheldon aside, let’s take a look at some other fast cash, high rolling billionaires who fund Super PACs.
