Future hall of fame quarterback Peyton Manning, 35, made it official in a news conference today: he’s done in Indianapolis as a Colt.

STORY: It’s A Wrap! Peyton Manning Likely Won’t Play Football Again 

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay joined Manning at the noon press conference and put a rest to all the rumors:

“We’re here to announce the conclusion of Peyton’s playing career with the Colts.”

Irsay continued: 

“We’re here very much as well to honor all the incredible memories and incredible things that he’s done for the franchise for the city for the state.”

Manning played 14 years with Colts and the team plans to retire the #18 jersey that will never be worn again, according to Irsay.

As for Manning he told a press room full of reporters that-

“We all know that nothing lasts forever. Times change, circumstances change, and that’s the reality of playing in the NFL. adding, “I’ll always be a Colt. I always will be. That’ll never change.”

Manning has padded the record books, racking up four MVP awards, 50,000 yards passing and his 200 consecutive starts. There will be a frenzy for major teams interested in signing the 35-year-old QB and the bidding wars have already begun.

As for the Manning family, Peyton’s younger bro Eli took home a Super Bowl ring and the MVP trophy this year.
