Hal Uhrig and Craig Sonner, attorneys for George Zimmerman, held a press conference at the Seminole County courthouse this afternoon to speak on behalf of his client, who made his first public comments since he shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26.

Sonner said:
“We’ve lost contact with Zimmerman and are withdrawing as counsel for him.”
Both lawyers confirmed that Zimmerman spoke with Sean Hannity off the record, but they don’t know what they talked about.
“George called Sean Hannity of Fox News off the record and he was unwilling to tell us what was said.”
Uhrig also confirmed that they haven’t seen or heard from Zimmerman since Sunday, but they know where he is at the moment, and say they have his phone number in their possession.
To their knowledge, the 28-year-old neighborhood watch captain has left Florida, but will not flee the country.
Zimmerman also talked to prosecutors without talking to his lawyers, and according to Uhrig, he was a bit astonished.
“For him to do this… to handle it this way shows that Zimmerman isn’t in complete control of what’s going on. I will not tell you where George Zimmerman is, because I don’t know,” he said.
Uhrig claims Zimmerman is not well emotionally and may be suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.
Uhrig went on to ridicule the rallies, marches and protests on behalf of Trayvon, calling out Jesse Jackson and Rev. Al Sharpton as racially charging the case.
Uhrig believes that the crime is battery against George Zimmerman.
Trayvon’s family attorney, Ben Crump, expressed concern that Zimmerman may flee saying-
“Trayvon’s family was always concerned that Zimmerman doesn’t try to skirt his legal responsibilities and become a flight risk.”
