Pharrell Williams, aka Skateboard P, is never one to hold his tongue on any topic, whether it’s music, fashion or style. So it’s no surprise he had something to say about President Obama‘s recent endorsement of same-sex marriage.

STORY: Making History! Barack Endorses Gay Marriage On “The View”

Right before tearing down the stage at Irving Plaza last night with special guest Santigold, the Virginia native took some time out to talk politics, music and skateboarding, among other things, in an exclusive interview with Mass Appeal Magazine.

Here are Pharrell’s thoughts on President Obama’s endorsement of same-sex marriage:

Speaking of differences, what are your thoughts about Barack Obama coming out in support of gay marriage? A lot of your fans are gay, young kids.

P: Right.

Any thoughts or feelings on that?

P: I make music for human beings, so… I think the President addressed human beings. I make music for human beings, we all do! All of us musicians make music for human beings. There’s differences all across the board but, you know, you have a life! You’re a human being. I hope that answer will suffice because, to me, at the end of the day, we’re all humans. You don’t gotta like everything! Live and let live, man!

Breaking it down to its simplest terms, Pharrell makes it clear: it’s a human being thing. For the complete interview, click over to Mass Appeal.
