Since its inception in 1972, the M division of BMW was considered a top notch car as fit for the roads as it was for the racing track. In fact, it was formed as a subsidiary to manage the company’s racing operations, dubbed BMW Motorsport. Hence the “M” series!
This month, the Motorsport division of BMW turns 40 and to celebrate BMW, they’ve released a ton of photographs that span from the ’70s to the current M series.
