Nigel Sylvester is always humbled by the things he’s been able to do. The BMX rider has no hesitation with expressing that he was just another kid from Queens, NY who someone believed in. His latest adventure took him cross-country in the Gumball 3000 race while wearing his Nike fuel band.

For those of you who don’t know, the Gumball 3000 is a cross-country race that 150 different teams participate in, all in exotic and tricked-out cars that you probably wouldn’t see on a day-to-day basis. A 3,000-mile international road rally hosted on public roads around the world, it’s led each year by Maximillion Cooper since 1999 and there are no official winners – just the accomplishment of finishing the race is good enough for all of the teams involved.

Nike, who is one of Nigel’s BMX sponsors, sent Nigel out with a FuelBand that challenges people to push themselves athletically and reach the goals that they have set for themselves, while tracking it electronically. Throughout the video, we see how Nigel has done just that.
