The greatest love Frank Ocean has ever known was when he was 19 years old and by happenstance, it was with a man.

Frank Ocean had loved before, and his previous loves were with women.

It wasn’t until he experienced the most profound love with a person of the same sex did he realize that his life was complete.

In preparation for his debut album Channel Orange, Frank penned a letter in December 2011 explaining his sexuality and his admission to the world that he is a bisexual man.

As rumors began swirling that Frank Ocean was “coming out” on his debut album, a UK blogger heard tracks like “Forrest Gump” and “Pink Matter” that used the pronoun “he” instead of “she.”

Most of the rumors were speculation, but Frank Ocean decided to clarify his feelings and reveal his sexuality by penning a poetic letter of liberation.

MissInfo pointed out that Frank Ocean previewed one of his “gay love songs” at this year’s Coachella, and no one even noticed.

On “Forrest Gump” Frank Ocean sings:

“My fingertips and my lips, they burn from the cigarettes, Forrest Gump/You run my mind, boy/ Running ’round my mind, boy/ Forrest Gump. I remember you/ This is love, know it’s true/ I won’t forget you.”

With Frank’s complex writing and metaphoric approach, many people assumed Frank was singing “Forrest Gump” from the perspective of “Jenny” or even that he was referring to himself in the third person.

Most of us were too blind to see, but clearly Frank was trying to tell us something at Coachella.
