Usain Bolt just became the first person since Carl Lewis to win consecutive Olympic gold medals in the 100m dash!

The track phenomenon set an Olympic Record with a time of 9.63 seconds and beat his fellow countryman Yohan Blake and United States track star Justin Gatlin to take the top spot. Blake and Gatlin finished with Silver and Bronze respectively with times of 9.75 and 9.79, both personal bests.

Although overjoyed by his accomplishment, Bolt was in no way satisfied. When asked about the accomplishment, he said: 

“It means one step towards being a legend, so I’m happy with myself, but it’s only one step, I have the 200 meters to go.”

In other Olympic news, Sanya Richards-Ross brought home the first Gold Medal of the 2012 Olympics for the USA in Track & Field. Andy Murray also avenged his Wimbledon defeat at the hands of Swiss tennis great Roger Federer by beating him in the Men’s Final.
