In an attempt to show Chavis Carter in an unflattering light, the Jonesboro Police Department has released cell phone footage showing the 21-year-old smoking what appears to be marijuana with two young boys.

An autopsy report conducted by the Jonesboro office revealed earlier this week that Chavis died of a suicide, which would validate the story police have stuck to since the young man’s tragic shooting death.
Regardless of the negative light Chavis is portrayed in due to the video, the facts still remain that he was shot and killed while handcuffed sitting in the back of a patrol car and the only explanation Jonesboro police came up with for his death was a poor reenactment video.
This was the same ploy used in the Trayvon Martin case, trying to discredit the victim with unflattering info. One thing has nothing to do with the other.
