There has been word about it for months and now it has come to fruition.  Blackberry has announced their own tablet, but  this one is for the business oriented.

Built on the QNX operating system, the Playbook is set for release early next year.  The new tablet delivers great web, gaming and video features and will work with Kindle as well.

Research In Motion unveiled the Playbook today at Blackberry’s annual DevCon Event in San Francisco and let Blackberry enthusiasts in on the specs of the new tablet.

The new device is 7 inches by 9.7mm, runs on a 1GHz dual-core chip and has 1GB of built-in RAM.  It will also have 1080p video and  will be compatible with Adobe Flash 10.1.

Other features include 802.11 Wi-Fi and users will be able to connect to their Blackberry phones to transfer data between the phones but no cellular antenna will be included.
