It’s been 12 years since Shyne released his self-titled debut album under Bad Boy Records. Since then, a lot has happened, including a 10-year prison bid that derailed the promising rapper’s career.

Even though he released a sophomore album, 2004’s Godfather Buried Alive, which he didn’t have full control of and which dropped while he was in prison, Shyne hasn’t had a proper follow up — until now.

Today, on the anniversary of the release of his debut Shyne, the rapper released his free street album Gangland. On the project, which features original production from the likes of Danja and RZA, Shyne talks about the streets, his prison sentence, racism, politics and the current rap game.

MUSIC: Shyne & Pusha T “Meyer Lansky”

Be warned: Shyne doesn’t sound the same as he did 12 years ago, his voice is much raspier. But he still sounds good.

Gangland is some new quality street music. Check it out below!
