DETAILS: Kreayshawn’s Debut Album Flops On The Charts

Oakland rapper Kreayshawn became an internet sensation when her “Gucci Gucci” song went viral on YouTube. Over a year later, Kreayshawn finally released her debut album, Somethin ‘Bout Kreay, which features successful artists like 2 Chainz, Kid Cudi and Diplo. 

Somethin ‘Bout Kreay debuted at the number 104 spot and currently rests at number 112 since its release last Tuesday. 

It’s been rumored the album took a whopping $750,000 to produce, and unfortunately, the album only moved 3,900 copies.

Columbia Records is definitely pissed they didn’t get any return on their investment, but oh well, maybe labels will think twice before investing in gimmick artists like Kreayshawn.

The Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley album has been on Billboard Hot 200 for 241 weeks, and on the week Kreayshawn dropped Somethin ‘Bout Kreay, The Best Of Bob Marley still ranked higher than Kreayshawn at the number 100 spot.

Nas’ tenth studio album debuted at number one on the charts on July 17, 2012, and 10 weeks later, Nas’ Life Is Good still sold more albums than Kreayshawn. At 10 weeks on the charts, Life Is Good moved 5,500 copies.
