Matt Barnes has a ongoing beef with the po-po! Apparently, police officer David Gibbons had has a bone to pick with the L.A. Clippers NBA player for a long time now.

During his most recent arrest, it became clear that he and Gibbons knew each other from a couple of prior incidents. According to TMZ, Matt screamed:
“You’re the f**king fa**ot who followed me!”
After that unfortunate word vomit, Matt shouted that Gibbons was the same cop who had waited outside of a restaurant, where he and his Basketball Wives wife Gloria Govan were eating, for two hours and then arrested him for an outstanding warrant.
Gibbons also tried to get him a felony charge for resisting arrest, as Matt told him if he couldn’t show him the warrant he wasn’t going anywhere… but the charge didn’t stick. That was July 30th.

On May 19th, the SAME officer had Matt’s car impounded for driving on a suspended license and refused to give Matt a ride, even though his ankle was injured and he was now without a car.
What’s up with this cop? He has been going toe-to-toe with Matt on three different occasions and he actually sounds like he might have a personal vendetta against Matt… or is he the only cop on duty in L.A.?!
Matt has since apologized for shouting out the gay slur. His statement to TMZ reads:
“I would like to apologize for the unfortunate language I used. I know that certain words are extremely hurtful.
I meant absolutely no disrespect to anyone. This comment, spoken in the heat of a difficult moment, does not accurately reflect my actual point of view. I hope that any and all offended parties can accept my sincerest apologies.”
Hopefully these two can work on their relationship because if not, it seems like everywhere Matt goes, his good buddy Gibbons will be following behind!
