The highly anticipated fashion weekend that’s been on everyone’s lips for the past two months finally took place in Botswana, Africa. The Gaborone Fashion Show was a joint venture between designer Koketso Chiepe and Lapologa Magazine, Botswana’s most established lifestyle, entertainment and cultural publication.

Day two of fashion shows pulled in key industry fashion players from London to New York, as well as from Nigeria and South Africa. Despite the low turnout on the opening night, the second night of the show was packed!

Editor of Arise Magazine, Helen Jennings, her sub editor Carinya Schapel, Pop Africana magazine editor Oroma Elewa, Son of P. Diddy Quincy Brown, famous South African blogger Urban Mosadi/ Tiisetso Molobi and Elle South Africa’s Fashion Editor Asanda Sizani were some of those present at the show.

Established designers Koketso Chiepe, New York’s Laquan Smith, Eve Mayglip, former contestant of the African Big Brother, Buhle Mguni, Sino Ragontse and Botho Chalegbwa showcased their works. Koketso Chiepe showcased two separate collections Koki and Koketso Chiepe. While Laquan Smith’s 2013 neon collection was outstanding, just about every collection shown received critical praise.
