Phillip Lim hasn’t been on the fashion scene for as long as some of his counterparts, but there’s no doubt his 3.1 Phillip Lim brand has achieved one of the biggest impacts. Lim has only been in his New York work space on Hudson Street for six months, but it looks like he’s had it for years!

The entire place has an extremely warm and welcoming feel for a work space. Upon entering, you see Phillip’s 27-slide installation depicting the hazy Tokyo skyline. Once you get over the installation, the first stop is Lim’s personal office which, though small, feels spacious thanks to a huge, rectangular skylight that fills the ceiling.

Right outside the office door is a library with black shelves and a large marble table that Lim leaves open for his staff to check out. One of the main pieces in Phillip’s office is his commissioned desk from BDDW, a design shop on Crosby Street founded by sculptor and painter Tyler Hays. Each section of the desk is made of a different material. One foot is composed of distressed wood that looks like it once held up a barn; another is sleek metal, and the next, cognac leather.

You can take a look at all of this, plus the other cool things in Phillip Lim’s 3.1 Phillip Lim offices in the gallery above!
