As a result of Billie Armstrong’s battle with addiction, Green Day recently announced that they would be canceling the remaining dates of their 20-city tour and postponing their 2013 tour.

To supplement for the loss of connecting with their fans via live shows, Green Day made the executive decision to push up the release date of ¡TRÉ!, which is the third installment of Green Day’s trilogy ¡UNO! ¡DOS! ¡TRE!.

Originally scheduled to be released January 15, ¡TRE! will now be released December 11.

Tre Cool released a statement addressing the band’s decision to postpone their upcoming tour stating:

“We feel bad we have to delay our tour, so to make up for it we want to give our fans the music earlier than we had planned. If we couldn’t be there to play it for you live, the least we could do was give you the next best thing.”

Green Day’s second installment, ¡DOS!, will be released on November 9 as planned.

As of now, there are no rescheduled tour dates.
