The barber shop is like chicken soup for your soul. Barbers do so much more than just cut hair. We hear many tales of life, we dish out advice and we solve problems that Dr. Phil couldn’t solve.
We are pros at baby mother drama. I can’t tell you how many times guys ask me for advice and say, “What do you think I should do about my girl doing…?”
You would be surprised the amount of time guys ask us on advice on getting married!
As manly as the barber shop is, it’s the center of all the gossip in the city. There’s always something being talked about at the barbershop. It’s street gossip.
That’s where you hear about who got robbed, or who got shot. That’s when we play big brother, and sometimes father, to the kids who walk into our chair. We try our best to keep them on the straight and narrow.
Since everybody is your friend and everybody’s from the neighborhood, the barber knows before anyone knows. Ladies, if you want to find out who’s cheating, sit in the barber shop for a day. You’ll find out so much, like who got money, who doesn’t, who is having a baby and so much more. It’s better than reality TV!
