Rumors began swirling Wednesday night that Atlanta rapper, Trinidad Jame$, inked a $2 million deal with Def Jam.

NEW MUSIC: Trinidad Jame$ “That Turn Up”

A day later, the rumor proved to be partially true. Trinidad Jame$ has officially joined the Def Jam family, but there’s currently no confirmation on the seven-figure advance he was rumored to receive.

Trinidad Jame$, who began rapping only 10 months ago, became an overnight sensation (literally), when his polarizing “All Gold Everything” video went viral on YouTube.

The video, which boasts over 3.3 million views on YouTube, hasn’t even been online for more than two months, and he’s already scored a lucrative deal.

LIST: 10 Reasons Why Everyone Should Be Listening To Trinidad Jame$

It’s hard to negate the fact that Trinidad Jame$’ overnight success is similar to Oakland rapper Kreayshawn, whose “Gucci Gucci” video launched her to polarizing notoriety and scored her a $1 million record deal.

Obviously, Kreayshawn’s career flopped as quick as it got hot, so GlobalGrind decided to write a 10-step guide for Trinidad Jame$ to avoid “the Kreayshawn curse.”

Check out our 10-step guide below!

1. Don’t let your white friend say n*gga, especially in public.

One of the biggest career killers for Kreayshawn stemmed from her White Girl Mob friend V-Nasty. V-Nasty made headlines when she said the n-word countless times on various YouTube videos. Kreayshawn tried to defend her friend, but eventually gave up the fight by avoiding questions about it.

2. Don’t befriend Lil B

No need for an explanation, just don’t become BFFs with Lil B.

3. Don’t start a beef with Rick Ross. In the words of Rozay, he will pay $50K to ruin your day.

Kreayshawn pissed off Rick Ross so bad, he threatened to put money on her head. Everyone loves the Bawse, so don’t get on his bad side.

4. Hone your skills.

Trinidad has only been rapping for a mere 10 months. If you don’t get better, you’ll get worse. Practice, practice, practice.

5. Drop your album in one year or less.

Don’t pull a Kreayshawn and release your debut album 13 months after your hit video goes viral. It’s inevitable that you will flop.

6. Don’t wait a whopping 11 months to release your lead single.

Kreayshawn made plenty of mistakes during her career. One of which includes waiting almost a whole year to release a “lead” single from her debut album. Drop as much new music as possible, and keep your fans engaged.

7. Keep your live performances “turnt” up

If you ever seen Kreayshawn live in concert, you’ll understand the importance of this step. Kreayshawn’s live performances were nothing short of a boring, awkward, snooze fest.

8. Do not exclusively release your debut album with one retailer, especially a limited retailer like Hot Topic.

Not saying it would have helped Kreayshawn’s album sales, but the “Summertime” rapper made the fatal mistake of exclusively releasing her album at Hot Topic.

9. Continue to keep everything gold.

The value of gold is sky high right now, sky high is a place you want to be on the charts. All gold everything for life.

10. Keep your videos as classic and interesting as the one that brought you fame.

You caught the attention of fans and critics with that one initial video. Keep your videos engaging and exciting. Kreayshawn’s most exciting video began with “Gucci Gucci” and ended with “Gucci Gucci.”
