Just a day after six men were arrested for raping yet another Indian woman on a bus, a 45-year-old mother of four was found hanging from a tree in what police are suspecting was also a case of sexual assault.

DETAILS: Not Again?! Six Arrested In Another Gang Rape Case In India

The woman, who was found half-naked, was hanging from a tree in a mango orchard in the Bhagalpur district. In a sad twist of events, the woman was hung by her sari, the piece of cloth that traditionally drapes Indian clothing to represent the woman’s grace.

Police also suspect that the attack was carried out by more than one person.

“It is a tragedy but at the same time I am not particularly surprised,” Manpreet Singh Badal, a former finance minister of Punjab, who has started his own political party, said in a phone interview today. “Until men fear the law then these types of crime are going to continue.”

This is the third rape case to cause outrage in India, prompting a call on government to crack down on sex crimes.
