True love looks a little something like BCBG Max Azria’s Fall 2013 collection.

The most wonderful time of the year (if you’re a fashion lover) just kicked off today, and GlobalGrind opened up Mercedes Benz Fashion Week with a presentation from BCBG Max Azria.

The collection by designers Max and Lubov Azria took center stage at The Theater in New York City’s Lincoln Center, as the lights dimmed and the packed house silently awaited the domination of the runway.

Legions of models clad in beanies took the catwalk to showcase the collection, said to be inspired by Istanbul’s architecture and the Gypsies of southern Europe – something we could totally note with the unmistakable presence of layering, hide and furs.

The runway saw leather leggings, lizard-inspired thigh-high boots, geometric looks, laser-cut patterns and a mix of shift dresses layered with tunic sweaters.

All in all, the collection embodied what we would like to call “laidback chic.”

And with frightful weather on the way, we don’t mind envisioning wrapping up in these roomy, yet calculated pieces.

As for the makeup? Sephora was on point, providing the models with perfectly understated, yet beautifully balmy skin.

All in all, BCBG Maz Azria’s Fall collection makes it easy to travel without luggage. Oh, the versatility of layering!

Trends spotted: Leather, fur, long layers, maxi shirts, thigh high boots, long vests, boxy shift dresses, geometric prints

Our rating: We love this, like a lot, but wished to see some of these big bohemian looks paired with a punch of color.

Our favorite look: We would seriously lust over a vegan version of the burgundy bomber with fur trimmings.
