While the Los Angeles Police Department go into their sixth day searching for alleged cop killer Christopher Dorner, it has been revealed that the ex-LAPD officer will be the first known human target for airborne drones on U.S. soil.

The exhausted police department are spreading themselves thin looking for Dorner, who allegedly shot and killed a police captain’s daughter and her fiancee and shot a cop last week. This weekend, authorities offered a $1 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Dorner. But the use of drones, which has been met with criticism, was confirmed by Customs and Border Patrol spokesman Ralph DeSio, who said the government fears that Dorner will make a dash for the Mexican border.
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa told reporters that the police department are taking tactical measures and will not tolerate Dorner’s actions:
“We will not tolerate anyone undermining the security of this community,” Villaraigosa said at a news conference at LAPD headquarters downtown. “We will not tolerate this reign of terror.”

According to ABC News, a man identifying himself as Dorner taunted the father of Monica Quan four days after the former LAPD officer allegedly killed her and just 11 hours after he allegedly killed a police officer in Riverside, Calif.
A man claiming to be Dorner called Randall Quan and told him that that he “should have done a better job of protecting his daughter,” according to the documents.
It was also revealed on Sunday that Dorner received flight training when he served in the U.S. Navy and could attempt to steal an airplane to escape authorities, which prompted the use of drones to locate the former Naval Reservist.
Earlier this month, the Obama administration announced the use of unmanned drones to kill Americans who are suspected of being Al-Qaeda allies, but lawmakers are taking a closer inspection because of uneasiness about the program. Sources are calling Dorner’s situation one of “domestic terrorism,” to justify the use of the drones.
