The couple that Christopher Dorner allegedly tied up in Big Bear, California during his attempt to elude authorities has come forward, according to the Huffington Post.

Karen and Jim Reynolds told police that they came face-to-face with Dorner on the day that he was finally “captured” (authorities are still trying to confirm if the burned body in the cabin belongs to Dorner). The couple said they found him in their cabin-style condominium, which is located just across the street from the sheriff’s command post.

According to reports, Dorner had been holing up in the cabin since Friday.

The couple said Dorner bound them, put pillow cases over their heads and fled in their purple Nissan, but was able to get to Karen Reynolds’ cellphone and dial 911. The Reynolds told their story at a news conference Wednesday night, they said, to clear up recent reports that it was two female housekeepers who had found Dorner and been tied up.

Their account could not immediately be confirmed by law enforcement officials, but it matched earlier reports saying it was a married couple, and property records showed them as the owners.

After Dorner crashed the vehicle he stole from the Reynolds, he stole a truck from Rick Heltebrake, a park ranger who takes care of the Boy Scout camp nearby.

He was checking the perimeter of the camp for anything out of the ordinary when he saw Dorner emerge from behind some trees. He was dressed in military fatigues and holding a semi-automatic-style rifle.

“I don’t want to hurt you. Start walking and take your dog,” Heltebrake recalled Dorner saying as he pointed the gun at him. He fled with his 3-year-old Dalmatian, Suni, and immediately called police, who quickly found the suspect again.

Heltebrake told authorities that he would definitely try to collect the $1 million bounty that was on Dorner’s head. The Reynolds haven’t mentioned the reward.

If they don’t say anything, Heltebrake might be buying himself a new truck with that money!
