Oscar Pistorius is currently on trial for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, and the case just keeps digging deeper and deeper into evidence.
His best friend Justin Divaris revealed that he got a call from Pistorius just moments after he shot her dead, and was sobbing over the phone to him.
According to The Sun, Pistorius called Divaris before even calling paramedics to check to see if his girlfriend had any hope of still being alive.
The site also says that a bloody bat was just found this weekend in his home, which could be the weapon used by Pistorius to kill Reeva Steekamp.
The site reports:
And reports today claimed that a bloodied cricket bat was found at the athlete’s home.
Cops are apparently probing whether the bat – said to be “covered in blood” – was used by Reeva or Oscar on the night of her death.
Last night, reports surfaced that Reeva was sitting on the toilet during the time she was shot through a bathroom door four times.
Justin said of the frantic phone call he received:
“It’s all very sad. Oscar called me at 3.55am saying that Reeva had been shot. I said, ‘What are you talking about? I don’t understand’. He repeated himself, ‘There’s been a terrible accident, I shot Reeva’.
“Next thing his neighbour picked up the phone and told me it was true and told me to get to Oscar’s home.”
“I was in total shock. I asked the neighbour, ‘Is she OK? Did the gun go off by accident’? She said, ‘No. She’s not OK. You need to get here’.”
This story just gets more sad and tragic as the details emerge. We pray for the family of Reeva and hope justice is served.
