After over 100 people gathered on Monday night for what the media referred to as a riot, peaceful protestors took to the streets again to remember slain teen Kimani Gray and to call for an investigation into his murder.

Tuesday night, around 150 people gathered for a peaceful march down to the 67th Precinct in Brooklyn after the parents of 16-year-old Kimani Gray urged for no further violent protests.

Kimani was shot dead by undercover police officers earlier this week, after they said he pointed a gun in their direction.

But the community isn’t buying that explanation.

“You can see that level of frustration has been brewing for many years,” one protester said.

New York City Councilman Jumaane Williams says the neighborhoods he represents are fed up, angered by the shooting and the perceived lack of a response to their problems from city leaders.

“We have been saying time and time again that this community is angry,” he said. “That it’s going to come out, it’s going to bubble up.”

The peaceful gatherers carried signs in Kimani’s honor and pleaded with the department to look into the incident. So far, the NYPD has not released the names of the officers or announced if they would be apprehended.
