If you’ve spent any amount of time paying attention to the front row of just about every show during Milan Fashion Week, chances are, you noticed Lapo Elkann. Lapo has an affinity for wide peak lapels on his blazer and is almost never seen without one.

Lapo’s grandfather and uncle were both executives at Fiat Automobiles and his mother was actually a Countess. While Lapo probably grew up not having to work, he eventually took the reigns as manager of brand promotion at Fiat Automobiles and is currently president of LA Holding, Italia Independent and Independent Ideas.

In 2011, Lapo supported the development of the 500 by Gucci, a special edition of the car he relaunched years before, on which he worked along with Gucci’s creative director Frida Giannini. After much success with the car, now it’s Frida’s turn to return the favor.

Gucci will launch a 27-piece made-to-measure collection in June designed by creative director Frida Giannini in partnership with Lapo entitled “Lapo’s Wardrobe.” When describing the collection, Frida says:

“Gucci’s made-to-measure program is the pinnacle of our Made in Italy expertise and allows each man to express his own style impeccably. Lapo perfectly embodies my vision of Italian style as an attitude, an instinct to interpret fashion in an individual yet sophisticated way. Lapo pays great attention to detail and is never afraid to take risks.”

The 27 pieces will comprise 23 looks for men and four for women, including leather goods, shoes and jewelry. The collection will offer new options to Gucci’s existing made-to-measure collection.

Lapo’s Wardrobe collection will be unveiled during the Spring/Summer 2013 Milan menswear shows in June, to coincide with the opening of a new dedicated Gucci men’s store. The service will initially be available at Gucci boutiques in Milan, London, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Sao Paulo.
