Welcome to Tuesday. It may be early in the week, but we have some great things for you to do today to forget that you still have the rest of the week ahead of you. Today’s installment of Dollars & Sense takes place in New Orleans. Check it out below!

Visit The Carousel Bar

Overlooking Royale Street in the famed French Quarter is a legendary circus act: The Hotel Monteleone’s Carousel Bar, one of the most famous watering holes in the Big Easy. For decades, crowds have gathered nightly to mingle atop the colorful bar’s brightly lit, revolving merry-go-round under a ceiling awash in fiber optic stars. Notable performers such as Liberace once headlined here back when the lounge was known as the Swan Room. Additionally, a host of celebrated authors have imbibed at this Royale Street lounge over the years, among them Hemingway and Faulkner. The adjoining dining room features live entertainment nightly.

Visit The New Orleans Museum Of Art

Among the New Orleans Museum of Art’s core values are quality, community, diversity, and education—all of which imbue its collection of more than 40,000 objects with the esprit of the region. NOMA’s collection includes the works of Pablo Picasso, Joan Miro, and Edgar Degas, who spent two years painting in a nearby studio. But it’s the sculpture garden, which features 60-plus pieces laid out on charming, meandering footpaths, that really brings out the cameras.

Financial Tip Of The Day

Brown Bag Lunch At Least A Few Days A Week:

Lunch times are great opportunities to network and make connections that could improve your career growth. So unless there is a common eating area for brown baggers, you may choose to limit brown bagging lunch to three days each week. Find a balance between saving some money and making the connection. In my case, I take my lunch with me 2-3 times a week and eat out the rest of the time.
