Each year, film fanatics always look forward to the prestigious Academy Awards.

But for the younger folks, most of us can’t wait for another show: the MTV Movie Awards!

With the big night coming up this Sunday, it’s only right that we reflect on past Movie Award history to see what kind of hilarity we can expect for this year.

We already know that Rebel Wilson hosting will bring in plenty of laughs throughout the night, but the movie spoofs of the year’s best films are really what keep us coming back.

In the past, some of the biggest box office hits have been made into parodies we can’t forget.

The Hangover is already comedy in itself, so making a spoof for the crazy plot wasn’t too difficult for many comedians.

Our favorite action movies such as Star Wars and Spiderman have been turned into some great MTV humor in the past, so we know we can expect some of that this year.

Even the ’90s wasn’t forgotten, as every girl’s top chick flick Clueless was used to make a funny sketch for the MTV awards show.

There are so many options that could be spoofed this year, but we’ll just have to wait and see…

Will Ferrell gets seriously funny for the 2003 MTV Movie Awards as he spoofs The Matrix: Reloaded with an introduction featuring Justin Timberlake and Seann William Scott.

Spiderman was one of the biggest comic books that was made into a box office hit, leading to the MTV Movie Awards producers to choose it to be made into a parody in 2002.

Everyone loved The Hangover, so of course MTV had to make their own jokes from the hilarious film at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards.

Even in 1996, MTV came together to make a spoof for the best chick flick of all time, Clueless.

After the last Star Wars movie hit theaters and left fans sad that the series was over, we got a proper goodbye with a spoof at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards.

In 1997, Mike Meyers starred in a hilarious spoof of the gory, but legendary Jurassic Park movie.

Lisa Kudrow recruited some celebrity friends to help with hosting duties by making a spoof for Austin Powers and Armageddon in 1999.

Drew Barrymore revisited the hit horror movie series of Scream when it was a huge hit at the 1997 MTV Movie Awards.

Everyone had a love/hate relationship with the Saw movie series due to its extreme gore, but the MTV Movie Awards made light of it in 2007 when the fourth one hit theaters.

Jimmy Fallon made a hilarious rendition of the Batman Begins movie at the 2005 MTV Movie Awards.
