New photos showing the nails, ball bearings and metal used to create the Boston Marathon twin bombs are providing clues to police about the anatomy of the bomb.

PHOTOS: ARREST HAS BEEN MADE! Investigators Identify Boston Marathon Bombings Suspect 

Investigators believe that the bombs were placed in pressure cookers and contained the above items for maximum destruction. Surgeons in the Boston area confirmed that they had to pull nails and metal from patients who were injured in the blast.

These new photos, also showing a bloody zipper from a backpack and dented metal fragments, will no doubt lead forensic investigators to answers about the bomb’s origin.

A small, green circuit board that investigators believe came from the bomb.
