The Boston Marathon bombings shook up the whole country, but it definitely didn’t effect anyone harder than Jeff Bauman.

The 27-year-old suffered the horrible tragedy of losing both of his legs during the explosion, and is now in critical, but stable in the hospital.

Fortunately, Jeff was able to survive the bombings because of the man simply known as the “hero in th cowboy hat” named Carlos Arredondo who kept one of Jeff’s essential arteries in tact while he was wheeled away in a wheelchair by paremedics.

The two recently reunited at a hospital, and of course it was emotional for both of them as they are strangers of each other, but bonded so closely.

Carlos recently talked to WHDH of the reunion:

‘When we first saw each other we hugged each other and I gave him a kiss on the cheek because it was very beautiful to see him doing very well. He was so happy to see me and he was so thankful. Tears were coming out of his eyes. I’m glad that I got to help him,’

He mentioned that Jeff said to him, “you saved my life”, which was most significant for the cowboy hero.

Jeff recently talked to WEEI about the reunion as well:

‘When Carlos picked me up and threw me into the wheelchair, then I was like, maybe I am gonna make it. Before that, no way. I thought I was done.’

Wow! We’re so glad these two reunited and that Carlos was able to keep Jeff alive.

Check out more on the two reuniting below!
