In her first one-on-one interview since her arrest last month, America’s sweetheart Reese Witherspoon admits she made an ‘unacceptable mistake’ when she and hubby Jim Toth were arrested last month.

The couple had been out on the town in Atlanta, Georgia when they were pulled over and taken into police custody. Jim failed routine sobriety tests and our timid little Reese was charged with resisting arrest. She reportedly told the officer who stopped them, “You’re about to find out who I am.”

What?!

The Legally Blonde star spoke with ABC News this morning about the incident, saying: “It was just one of those nights–we went out to dinner and had one too many glasses of wine.”

The actress seems to have learned from her mistake, however.

“We thought we were OK to drive but we definitely were not. We are just so sorry this happened. We know better than that. It’s something that will absolutely never happen again,” she said.

Witherspoon went on to explain why she said the things she said that evening, claiming she was just intoxicated and in shock.

“I had no idea what i was thinking that night. I saw him arrest my husband and I just panicked. I said all kinds of crazy things to the officer. I even told him I was pregnant. I am not pregnant!” she told ABC.

“I had no idea what I was talking about and I am so sorry. I was so disrespectful to him. I have police officers in my family. I work with police officers every day. I know better.”

“The worst part was having to speak to the kids,” she said.

We really hope you learned your lesson; drunk driving is no joke. But we still got love for you, girl.
