Brooklyn’s Galapagos Art Space was the place to be in New York City last night.

Compton rapper Kendrick Lamar hosted a good kid, m.A.A.d city art show/concert in conjunction with Footaction’s “Own The Stage” campaign series.

The “Backseat Freestyle” rapper was on double duty last night, serving up jokes as Kendrick the “comedian” and performing his smash hits as Kendrick the “rapper.”

GlobalGrind was lucky enough to be in the building, as Kendrick performed “Backseat Freestyle,” “Poetic Justice,” “Swimming Pools (Drank),” and “Bitch Don’t Kill My Vibe.”

During Kendrick’s set he brought out UK singer Emeli Sande, who featured the 25-year-old rapper on her “Next To Me” remix

Kendrick also brought out his Black Hippy brother ScHoolboy Q, who performed his latest single “Yay Yay.”

If you’re dying to see Kendrick in concert, there are more than enough opportunities to catch him on stage this summer.

It was announced yesterday, Kendrick will be joining Chris Brown, A$AP Rocky, 2 Chainz, Wu-Tang Clan, and many more artists at Hot 97’s annual Summer Jam concert series.

Kendrick will also be performing at a plethora of summer music festivals including Governor’s Ball, Made In America, and Firefly Music Festival.

Watch Kendrick and Emeli’s performance up top!
