We all have them once in a while. Whether its stress at work, a boyfriend that’s pissing you all the way off, or you’re just in a rut that seems bottomless. Shitty days can certainly ruin every one of your precious 24 hours, if you let them. Here are some of the things I do when the pressure is on.

 

1. STOP and BREATHE.

No, seriously. Stop everything that you are doing, go outside and take ten deep breaths in through your nose and exhale that bad energy out through your mouth. “Slow deep breaths help to activate parasympathetic nervous system which is when the body gets the chance to recuperate, regenerate, and heal.”

2. Think about something good, something that is sure to make you smile.

Mentally remove yourself from your current state and take a stroll down memory lane to a beautiful day dream. Positive reminiscing has been found to be a positive mood booster.

 

3. Play your favorite song.

Music has a way of filtering all the other noise around you. So, literally, headphones on, world off.

 

4. Put your body into motion.

Whatever it takes to break a sweat, just do it! Cardio, pilates, yoga, even a nice 10 minute sex episode. Get your heart rate up and your blood flowing. It’s all about creating new energy.

5. Write! Write down your thoughts and force yourself to accept the fact that you are in control of your own mind.

You will not win every battle, and you shouldn’t try to. Give your problems to God.  He got you, believe that!
