In a sad, partial closure to the missing case of Vittorio Missoni, nearly six months after the plane that was said to be carrying the Missoni heir, three other passengers and two crew members disappeared, remains of the small plane have been found.
Nearly six months to the date after the plane’s disappearance off the coast of Venezuela, the Missoni fashion company said on Thursday that the wreckage of the aircraft had been found in the waters north of the resort of Los Roques, near where the aircraft took off.
The discovery of the plane’s remains debunked any hope that the Missoni family may have held onto that Vittorio and the others were still alive.
Coupled with all of that sorrow, Ottavio Missoni, the patriarch of the business and Vittorio’s father, died at 92 on May 9.
