Naturi Naughton was best known as a former member of the R&B/pop group 3LW. After parting ways with the girls, she went on to make a name for herself. And that, she did. She worked on a solo album which featured Lil’ Kim on one of her tracks, titled ‘Real Chicks’. After exploring her creativity musically, she ventured off to find her voice as an actress. She starred in the Tony Award winning Broadway musical Hairspray. And eventually, she made her way from the stage onto the big screen, playing rapper Lil’ Kim in Notorious, a movie based on the late rapper Notorious B.I.G., starred in the 2009 remake of Fame, and was a supporting actress in the comedy Lottery Ticket. Among her accomplishments, her recent move is one to go down in TV history.
Naturi will be guest starring on the Emmy winning drama series Mad Men on Sunday, September 26. For the first time ever, Mad Men is bringing aboard an African-American actor who isn’t playing a maid, bulter, busboy or any domestic role for that matter. Luckily, Naturi Naughton gets the honor of taking on that role. We are extremely excited to see the character she will play and what she will bring to the show.
