A 35-year-old man from Phoenix, Arizona has accidentally been shot and killed by his 4-year-old son after he got his hands on a weapon.

Justin Stanfield Thomas and his son were visiting a friend in Prescott Valley when the son found a gun in the living room of the home, and accidentally fired a bullet at his father.

According to authorities, the shooting occurred yesterday afternoon, when Stanfield died after being rushed to the hospital.

The son has now been transferred to his mother, where he will be staying as the investigation continues.
