There’s definitely an epidemic of box braids going around, and we’re kinda loving it. We can give credit to Janet Jackson when she rocked her iconic jumbo-sized braids in the 1993 film Poetic Justice.
Although these braids take several hours to do (at least five!) we’ve seen some of our favorite celebs rocking the hell out of them.
So if you need a little follicle inspiration this summer, look no further!
Christina Milian was super excited to braid her hair when she Instagrammed this pic and added the caption: “I‘ve been wanting to get individual braids since I was like 12!”
Solange is definitely no stranger to the braiding world, as we often see her rocking some waist long braids; here with a Babatunde hat.
Beyonce followed in baby sis’s footsteps when she rocked her braids in a high bun on a day out with hubby Jay.

We all remember Brandy‘s braids. She rocked them everywhere – especially during Moesha in the ’90s. Brandy ditched the braids for some weave for awhile, but decided to take it back recently with some jet black jumbo braids when she posted this pic on IG.
Tae Heckard can basically rock anything, especially these “dookie braids.”
