The National Transportation Safety Board intern who confirmed the racist and fake Asian names to TV station KTVU for a report that they did on the Asiana Airplanes crash has since been fired from the company.

A spokesperson for Asiana Air claimed the company was going to sue the TV station after it reported the names of the pilots to be “Sum Ting Wong,” “Ho Lee Fuk,” “Wi Tu Lo” and “Bang Ding Ow.” The station has since apologized, stating that they confirmed these names with someone at the NTSB.

Little did they know, they confirmed with a summer intern.

A spokesperson for the NTSB stated that the intern responsibilities were to just answer phone calls and pass on media inquires to the appropriate employees. Unfortunately, the intern did not stick to these duties and “acted outside the scope of his authority.”

Even though the intern was fired, it’s worth noting that he actually did think that these were the pilots’ real names, which means the NTSB should also answer for this atrocity.

Just saying. Check out the initial news report below.
