Word on the Interstreets is that Eminem will release a new album this year. And the rapper might have officially kicked off Shady season with a super secret performance in New York City last night for G-Shock’s “Shock The World” 30th anniversary party. (Cool sidenote: G-Shock announced a limited edition watch with Em, which will hit stores in December).

With friend and D12 member Mr. Porter by his side, Eminem performed a number of classics that ranged from underground songs (“Kill You,” “Criminal” and “3AM”) to huge hit records (“Lose Yourself,” “Not Afraid” and “No Love”).

Em rocked the crowd for most of the night. However, a cool moment came when Royce Da 5’9 came out and the two performed their hit “Lighters” (sans Bruno Mars).

Before Em hit the stage, Shady Records artist Yelawolf rocked it for 40 minutes, performing songs from his three major releases, Trunk Muzik 0-60, Radioactive and Trunk Muzik.

Watch some footage of Em’s big night above and below.
