The Weeknd has a lot of celebrating to do. The Canadian singer’s new album, Kiss Land, debuted at number two on the charts this week, right after country star Keith Urban’s Fuse album.

While The Weeknd’s Kiss Land sold 97,985 copies, 2 Chainz’s follow-up album, B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time, only moved 60,664 copies. Unlike 2 Chainz, The Weeknd’s new offering sold more copies than his November 2012 release, Trilogy.

2 Chainz’s album sales took a significant dip compared to his Def Jam debut, Based On A T.R.U. Story, which debuted at number one on Billboard with 147,000 copies sold last August.

“Primetime” songstress Janelle Monae’s Electric Lady album debuted at number five, while her R&B counterpart John Legend, who released an album the week prior, rounded out the top 10 with his Love In The Future album.

Both Tamar Braxton and Ariana Grande maintained a steady position on the charts, coming in at numbers eight and nine.

Kiss Land and B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time are both available on iTunes. Fans of the Toronto native can catch him in living color on his “The Fall” tour.

Congrats to The Weeknd and 2 Chainz.
