Michael Jackson will always be the king of pop. Fact.
The pop star legend proved this point, again. Forbes just released a list of the Top-Earning Dead Celebrities and MJ is number one. By a lot.
The Thriller-singer made $160 million last year, which is about three times the amount number two on the list — Elvis Presley — made. (Elvis took in $55 mill last year).
So how is this MJ money flowing? Simple, the MJ estate made a majority of his money from the two Cirque du Soleil shows that have licensed his music. The MJ estate also earns major bucks from his music catalogue.
Rounding out the top five is Peanuts creator Charles Schulz ($37 million), Elizabeth Taylor ($25 million) and Bob Marley, who made $18 million.
