Be patient, Beyhive, your Queen is coming.
Beyonce fans have been waiting for a new Bey album ever since she shut down the Super Bowl stage at the top of the year. But there’s only two months left, so unless Bey starts using some Jay Z tactics, there won’t be a new Beyonce album dropping in 2013.
That’s OK. There’s always 2014.
One of the confirmed collaborators on her new album is Pharrell. So when Billboard recently caught up with the producer to talk about a number of things — from his eBay collection to just being happy — it was only right that Billboard ask him about a new Bey record.
And here’s what he said:
“B’s album is crazy. Let me tell you what it is. She’s very particular. She’s a Virgo. And she’s not going to put it out until it’s ready and feels like it’s right to her. She’s got a very specific taste. I guess that’s the reason she’s Beyonce. Her name is recognizable around the globe and that’s huge. That comes from someone that has very particular taste. When you know what you want, you won’t stop until you get it. [Other people are hearing her album] and are like ‘Whoa!’ And she’s like, ‘Yeah, I’m almost done.’ And she’s the queen.
So we can wait.
That’s exactly right. We will wait.”
Did you hear what he said, Beyhive? Even though the album is “crazy,” she won’t release it until she’s “ready.”
