A new year means a fresh start, but for some it’s a harsh reminder of the people they lost along the way.

For Fast And Furious star Vin Diesel, it’s the latter. The actor paid tribute to his “brother,” Paul Walker, who tragically passed in November 2013. Diesel shared a photo of the pair sharing a laugh during a press tour for their upcoming film along with a heartfelt message via Facebook.

“There was always moments of child-like-laughter…We had accomplished so much by 2013…P.s. The complexities of Brotherhood, and the painful void…of it’s absence,” he wrote.

Diesel has used Facebook to share kind words and memories he shared with Walker numerous times since his death. One of his more recent posts revealed the release date of Fast and Furious 7.

“The last scene we filmed together…There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared…in the film we were now completing…the magic captured….and, in just how far we’ve come…Fast and Furious 7 will be released…April 10th, 2015!”

“P.s. He’d want you to know first,” he added.

Initially it was unclear whether or not Walker would appear in the film at all, following his sudden death in a fiery car crash. Universal Pictures has since confirmed that Walker will be in the film franchises’s latest installment.

“Continuing the global exploits in the franchise built on speed, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker lead the returning cast of FAST & FURIOUS 7, which will be released by Universal Pictures on April 10, 2015,” the studio revealed in a statement. “James Wan directs this chapter of the hugely successful series, and Neal H. Moritz and Vin Diesel return as producers.”

Our prayers go out to Vin as he mourns his great friend. We know it’s tough.

RIP Paul Walker.
