John Singleton is all set to rewrite, direct, and produce an untitled biopic for the late rapper Tupac, whose death left millions of fans in complete shock after he was gunned down in 1996.

According to The Hollywood Reporter:

“Morgan Creek is financing in collaboration with Randall Emmett and George Furla‘s Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films. He will begin working on a draft of the screenplay immediately, with an eye toward a summer start date. With Singleton’s involvement, the long-stalled project is getting a second life.”

We’re sure you’re wondering who’s going to play Pac. If it’s up to Singleton, we’re sure only the best, as he had firsthand experience with the hip-hop legend. Singleton explained:

“Tupac was the guy who I planned to do a lifetime of films with. His passing deeply affected my life as well as countless people in this world. His life story is as important to my generation.”

In other celebrity news, singer Ne-Yo and comedian Kevin Hart were recently spotted trash talking and fighting over who will be this year’s All Star Weekend Celebrity Game MVP in New Orleans.

Obviously, the footage is hilarious so watch above, and let us know who you think is going to take it this year. (Our money’s on Kevin!)

A teaser trailer for The Purge 2 has finally been released (see above). The original movie had us all gasping for air as the New Founders of America invited the world to celebrate their right to purge, and the sequel is sure to be just as good.

Check out the trailer above, as well as an accompanying poster and picture.

This James DeMonaco thriller begs the question: “Will you survive the night?”
