With some of the last looks taking the runway for Fashion Month, doing what hasn’t been done yet is no easy task. But for Philipp Plein, standing out from the crowd meant putting the OG of supermodels, Naomi Campbell, on the runway.
Naomi usually reserves her runway appearances for special occasions like Louis Vuitton or Versace, but she made her runway comeback at young German designer Philipp Plein’s Fall 2014 show in Milan and worked it like she never left the catwalk.
According to Fashionista:
Plein is known for tapping big names — Lindsay Lohan starred in one of his campaigns, shot by Terry Richardson; Grace Jones performed at one of his shows and Alek Wek walked his runway (which was comprised entirely of black models) last season.
We can only imagine the level of intimidation backstage when the other models realized Naomi Campbell would be walking in the same show as them; she’s in her 40s and is still working it like the girls 20 years her junior.
