Oscar-nominated director Lee Daniels has picked up his lens for a new project, but this time, it’s not for the silver screen.
You can find his latest work inside the glossy pages of CR Fashion Book, where the filmmaker tried his hand at shooting a fashion editorial for the very first time, casting Joan Smalls as his leading lady and Michael B. Jordan as her (extremely) handsome Prince Charming. Excuse us while we swoon.
“Lee Daniels Fairytale Theater” tells the tale of “one girl’s nightmare in three acts,” presenting Joan as the damsel in distress of three fairy tales: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White. And like any true modern-day princess, she’s adorned with luxe labels, like Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel and Givenchy, while Michael is sweeping us off our feet in Gucci.
