What would the rapper be without the DJ?

During hip-hop’s golden era (the ’80s) the DJ was more important than the rapper. So much so that the DJ often got first billing (DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince and Eric B. & Rakim come to mind.)

The DJ plus rapper combo has gone away somewhat over the years, but Fame School is trying to bring that combo back. Fame School consists of rapper Telli Pan and DJ/producer Slimmy Neutron, aka Traptain Morgan. The two have a debut EP dropping on May 5th called Level Up.

The first release from that EP is “Told Y’all.” You can see the clever video for the song above. It features clips from The Wolf of Wall Street cut in with clips of Boosie’s daughter celebrating the release of her pops.
