Something strange is happening in New York, y’all.
People are smiling more, shedding their layers and taking to the streets. No, its not a protest or strange dance craze – it’s spring, people! Like really, truly spring.
The sun is out, flowers are blooming, the smell of street meat is in the air and the all-day-bodega-dwellers are back. New York City is starting to come alive once again.
If you live in the big apple you know there’s no place quite like the city in the summer, but spring is a close contender; There’s so much to do and so much to see and, well, there’s really no place quite like it!
After the long winter we’ve had, we deserve a little sunshine, dammit!
It seems the sunny weather is FINALLY here to stay so we rounded up all the things that happen during the changing of the seasons.
Sunshine does wonders for people’s moods – even the most jaded of New Yorkers are walking around with a bit more pep in their step…
…and you’re probably experiencing a lot less of this…
…which makes for way better days!
Sure, the streets are a bit more crowded as of late…
…and the tourists have taken over Times Square once again…
…but that’s nothing a seasoned New Yorker like you can’t handle!
…Just be sure you don’t lose your cool.
Warmer weather brings new opportunities throughout this great city of ours…
…New Yorkers are ditching the treadmill for runs in the park…
…gearing up for numerous trips to the Williamsburg/Park Slope or Chelsea flea market…
…and anxiously awaiting their beer garden of choice’s reopening.
With bikini season around the corner, the pressure is on to get into shape before it’s too late…
…seriously.
Suddenly all your friends who were MIA all winter long have reemerged, single and ready to play…
…and all they want to do is kick it outside…
…and get drunk…
…which can be a little exhausting for your bank account.
As the season’s change everyone you know is consumed with festival season…
…they’re either talking about it…
…or scrounging for last-minute tickets…
…because nobody wants to be the guy that missed Outkast’s reunion.
All of a sudden everyone’s showing a little more skin, which is both a blessing…
…and a curse…
Ugh!
All in all, spring time in New York is pretty great…
…second only to summer…duh!
