The tents are all packed up, the astronaut has been deflated, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time to talk the who/what/wear of Coachella. While there are number of reasons why we regret not going this year (1. Outkast, 2. Beyonce’s surprise appearance, 3. Jay Z’s surprise performance–need we go on?), we here at the style section of GlobalGrind are a little more concerned with the celebrity style of the annual two-weekend, three-day music and arts festival.

In the scorching hot desert of Indio, California, fashion and music collide and make for some pretty interesting outfit choices. With temperatures nearing the triple digits, we’ll be the first to admit that we’d try to rock out in as little clothing as possible, but stars like Solange Knowles and Kelly Rowland weren’t letting a little warm weather stop them from stuntin’ on the festival grounds.

Even Kid Cudi found a way to beat the heat–the rapper hit the stage in a crop top, and we have to admit, he somehow pulled it off. But both he and Pharrell opted for jorts, and jorts are never OK. Ever.

We’ll settle for jorts before bindis though, because when it comes to accessories, file cultural items under fashion festival faux pas. Check out the gallery below to see the good, the bad, and the culturally appropriative of Coachella 2014.
