The word finally is an understatement; it seemed like it was never going to happen. Chris Brown‘s highly anticipated new album has an official due date for September 16.

The “Loyal” singer debuted the cover art for his sixth album via Instagram. X was originally scheduled to be unleashed on May 5 to coincide with Brown’s 25th birthday, but was pushed back due to his jail sentence.

After mending bridges with Young Money artist Drake, Chris Breezy was scheduled to rip the stage with him at the 5th annual OVO festival. Unfortunately, the performance in Toronto was canceled due to his past legal woes and Canada’s “no tolerance policy” in regards to allowing criminals into the country.

Drake and Chris Brown recorded a track in July together, and although they may not be able to perform their collaboration, it will most likely be available on X next month. Despite the album’s continuous delays, Chris has continued to pump out the hits since his release from prison. Rick Ross and Usher are just a few more artists on the long-awaited album.

Stay tuned.
